Week Four - Hit Me with Your Best Shot

Week Four - Hit Me with Your Best Shot

This should be getting easier, right?

WRONG!

The scheduling gods hate me and my plans to keep making progress. Jason is going into work earlier and earlier all the time and working the weekends too. I’ve managed to still get 4 workouts in this week, but it’s not been without challenges.

Then, this morning I got up at 4:45 to get to the gym and back home before 6:00. As I pulled out of the driveway I noticed the low tire pressure light was on, so I stopped at Speedway to properly inflate. First, the air pump was broken and when I got back in my car, the gear shifter wouldn’t move. So thirty minutes and 4 YouTube videos later, I finally was able to put the car into gear so I could get back home, but I didn’t have time to get to the gym. The good news—Nissan fixed my car today and it was under warranty. The bad news—I didn’t  get my workout in today.

I’ve also had a few rough days eating wise. This weekend was packed with baseball and flag football so we were grabbing on the go (but damn, Skyline was delicious!) and I didn’t have time to go to the grocery. The thing I am doing differently than in the past is I’m not letting one bad decision completely derail me. I can get back on the wagon while still swallowing that last bite of cheese coney.

Since it’s been a rough week, I decided to not get on the scale. No need to get down on myself if there is even a slight setback. If I’ve continued to progress, next week’s scale session will be even better. But next Monday, I’m checking in no matter what this week brings.

This week, I added Pat Benatar’s Hit Me with Your Best Shot to my workout playlist. Life took some jabs at me this week, but I’m refocusing and getting back on track. I’m really digging these 80’s jams to get me moving, but I’d love other workout song suggestions.

Week four is in the books. As always, we’re in this together so I’d love to hear how your health and wellness is going. Have you recently met any goals? Did you have a tough week too? Comment below or shoot me an email at mollie@midlifepickle.com.
