Fishing Fixes Everything
When I was about 5 my dad built a pond on our family farm. This pond, affectionately known as “the lake” has been a refuge for my family for 40 years. When I was a girl and feeling overwhelmed I’d dig up a few worms from the cow manure pile, grab my pole and head over the hill to try to snag a catfish. The solitude always helped me gain perspective and peace.
After a long week of NTI and video conferences, the boys and I threw in the towel at 4:00 and headed to the farm. With my 6’ fishing pole in hand, more to remind my parents to keep their social distance than to fish, Harry and I kicked it lakeside for two hours.
This time outside was just the therapy we needed. We are beyond blessed to have this special place to visit and recharge, especially during the current coronavirus crisis. Jerry Braun must have known that if he built this paradise 40 years ago, we would come.
